19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his initial trophy for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally separating with long-time coach his previous coach.
Now collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's first championship since the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface from spring of that year.
The win also indicates he has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one various competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is really nice," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my child her name, because the first title I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, featuring in Halle in the past months.
The player's defensive approach and frequent reactions on court had caused observers to wonder if his capacity to play at the elite level was concluded.
But the player has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and play aggressively, supported by an improved serve.
Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, securing four of the last five points to go ahead.
The competitors swapped service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden tour victory, took control to create a final set.
He rescued 4 early chances in a close final set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to secure the win.
Appropriately, he secured victory with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to handle a return after a lengthy match.
